Task Template Groups (Customer Guide)
Task Template Groups let you bundle multiple templates into a single ordered checklist that can be applied to a Job or Load/Leg. A template can belong to multiple groups.
Why Groups?
- Keep consistent ordering per workflow (pickup vs delivery vs hazmat)
- Apply multiple tasks with one action
- Configure auto-apply rules (trucking-friendly triggers)
Creating a Group
- Go to Settings → Task Templates → Groups
- Click Create Group
- Set:
- Group Key (unique identifier)
- Title / Description
- Scope (Company or System)
- App Type / Industry
- Applies To (Job, Load/Leg, Both)
- Add templates to the group
- Set each template’s group order (this overrides the template’s default order)
- Save
Applying a Group to a Job or Load/Leg
When applying a group you can choose a mode:
- Dedupe: Only creates tasks that don’t already exist (based on template).
- Override: Removes existing tasks created from templates in that group and recreates them.
Auto-Apply (Trucking)
Groups can be configured to auto-apply when certain events occur:
- Load created (
leg_created) - Driver assigned (
leg_assigned) - Load status change (
leg_status) — optionally match a specific status
Safe rollout
Auto-apply groups may be disabled by default per company. If auto-apply doesn’t run, ask your admin to enable the feature flag for your tenant.
